Around Christmas time, I bought a kayak kit from
Pygmy Boats and started assembling
it. It's a construction process known as stitch and glue. The mahogany
panels are drilled every six inches and sewn together with a thin metal
wire. The panels are then glued with epoxy and the stitches removed.
Fiberglass is then laminated inside and out for strength.
